We have all been in your shoes and know the experience of starting a new school at anytime, TK-5th grade, can be overwhelming for both the student and their families. Below we have compiled many important resources, information and FAQ's to help you navigate through your first few weeks at Valhalla. The Valhalla Elementary School website includes information about the school, our wonderful team of teachers and staff, contact information, important links to school and district information, and many other helpful resources.
As your child starts at Valhalla, you are automatically a part of our parent club. If you are interested in getting involved - there’s really no better way to meet people and feel a part of the community - please email vpfapresident@gmail.com and we can help find a spot for you.
Konstella is one of the main forms of communication between Parents, School, and VPFA. On Konstella you will find the School Directory, Calendar, Volunteer Signups, Fundraising and Donation links, Important Announcements, and other Files and Documents. You will be able to communicate with your class specifically, connect with individuals, and join groups or committees.

This page was created by the VPFA to get important news and information to the school community. Only school wide news and information is allowed on this page. Membership questions must be answered to confirm enrollment at Valhalla. Faculty and staff are not included in the Facebook Group unless they are also a parent of a Valhalla Student.
Airies/Homelink is available for all MDUSD students and legal guardians. The HomeLink Parent Portal account allows the ability to check student grades, test scores, attendance, as well as other completing registration forms.

Classes are encouraged to create their own Facebook Pages where class specific information and discussions can be shared.
**When answering the security questions, you can state that you are an incoming student and you will be approved**
There are several communication platforms by which information is sent to the Valhalla Community to keep you up to date and informed. Please be sure you have access and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reachout to the VPFA.
School success starts with attendance. Missed instruction can never be duplicated. In addition to the student's loss of instruction, the school loses State funds for each absence (whether or not it is excused). State funding is based solely on actual school attendance by students.

District policy states that absences must be cleared within 72 hours after students returns to school. If no notification is received, the absence will be considered a truancy.
Can you share your professional expertise or a hidden talent? Are you available every day, an hour a week, or for a specific event? Get Involved and volunteer! You are definitely needed! If you’re not sure where to help out, email the board and we will help find something that suits your unique talents and availability.
Volunteers should get their fingerprints done and have a valid TB test on file.
Please remember that all visitors must check in at the school office between the hours of 8:20 a.m. - 2:35 p.m. A "visitor" badge must be worn at all times.
For the safety of our students, all volunteers must be cleared through the district. This includes current TB test & fingerprinting.
Volunteer opportunities include Lunch Duty, Reading Lab, Garden, Library, Field Trips, Classroom Help and so much more.

California's Universal Meals Program allows every Mt. Diablo Unified School District student to receive, one breakfast and one lunch every school day in the 2023-2024 school year, at no cost.
